Railing repair in Florissant
St. Louis County, Missouri. Including Old Town Florissant along Rue St. Francois, the subdivisions off New Halls Ferry and Lindbergh, and nearby Hazelwood, Black Jack and Ferguson.
The houses
Most of Florissant was built out after World War II, so the typical house is a brick or frame ranch or split-level with a two- or three-step concrete stoop and a simple iron railing that's been there since the house was new. Old Town, near the river end of town, has much older brick and frame homes.
What we hear about in Florissant
- Original iron stoop railings rusted off at the concrete
- Short handrails for two- and three-step entries
- Split-level and back-door steps with no railing at all
- Railings loose because the concrete around the anchor has cracked
- Straight-picket railings that need a matching new section
Local notes
Old Town Florissant has historic buildings, and exterior changes there may need review. If your house is in Old Town and you're changing the railing's look, check with the City of Florissant first.
On a lot of stoops here the railing is fine but the concrete under it is crumbling. Mention cracked or spalling steps in your request so the pro can tell you whether the anchors need new concrete first.
STL Railing Repair is an independent referral service, not a railing, welding or ironwork company. We connect people in the St. Louis area with independent local railing and ironwork pros, who set their own prices and are responsible for their own work.
